0101 Measures against flake-like wax bridging
A case of a Brody disk that easily resolved discharge issues from the hopper.
The chemical manufacturer was having trouble with bridging of flake wax, but by adopting the BroaDisk, they were able to easily resolve the discharge issues from the hopper. A controller with four built-in solenoid valves is used for the eight installed BroaDisks. The BroaDisks are turned on sequentially in pairs at four locations. The ON time, OFF time (between ONs), and interval time are set according to the characteristics of the powder (particle size, particle size distribution, particle shape, angle of repose, moisture content, adhesiveness, flowability, etc.), hopper conditions, and powder discharge/supply speed, as the situation regarding powder blockage and bridging rat holes varies. When multiple BroaDisks are installed, it is more effective to turn them on sequentially at multiple locations, as in this case, rather than turning them all on simultaneously. In the case of aeration for powder hoppers like the BroaDisk, it is not necessary to constantly flow air.
